Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 lemon, zested and juiced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

¼ cup olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients: Start by cleaning the shrimp and removing the shells and tails. Rinse the asparagus and trim the tough ends.

Marinate the Shrimp: In a bowl, combine the shrimp with half of the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes to enhance the flavors.

Cook the Asparagus: In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the remaining olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the asparagus and sauté for about 4-5 minutes until tender but still vibrant in color. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Remove the asparagus from the pan and set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the marinated shrimp in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Avoid overcrowding the pan; you can do this in batches if your pan isn’t large enough.

Combine and Serve: Once the shrimp are cooked, return the asparagus to the pan. Toss everything together for a minute to combine and heat through. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Garnish and Plate: Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of citrus.
