Ingredients

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb)

8 oz fettuccine pasta

2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon zest (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Fettuccine: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions. Add the broccoli florets to the pot during the last 3 minutes of cooking. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and broccoli.

Sauté the Chicken: While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side or until thoroughly cooked and golden brown. Remove from the skillet and let it rest.

Make the Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer and then add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and the sauce is smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

Combine Ingredients: Slice the cooked chicken into strips and add it back to the skillet along with the drained fettuccine and broccoli. Toss everything together gently until well coated in the Alfredo sauce. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.

Serve: Plate the Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli, garnishing with freshly chopped parsley and a sprinkle of lemon zest for a pop of flavor. Enjoy your creamy, comforting dish!
