In a large bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, rice vinegar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them until they are well coated in the marinade. Cover with plastic wrap or transfer to a ziplock bag, and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or up to overnight.
Preheat your air fryer to 380°F for about 5 minutes.
Remove the wings from the marinade (reserve leftover marinade) and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Air fry the wings for 27.5 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking to ensure they cook evenly.
While the wings are cooking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to let it simmer for about 6.0 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Once the wings are done cooking, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the thickened glaze over the wings and toss until they are well coated.
Transfer the wings to a serving platter. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top for garnish before serving.
