Ingredients

1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

6 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Gruyère cheese

1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 5 slices)

1 small onion, finely diced

1 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Air Fryer: Start by preheating your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for about 3-5 minutes, allowing it to reach the optimal cooking temperature.

Sauté the Onions: In a small skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent and slightly caramelized, about 3-4 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream until well combined. Stir in the sautéed onions, crumbled bacon, and Gruyère cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Fit the Pie Crust: Roll out your pie crust and gently press it into a greased 7-inch or 8-inch (18-20 cm) round baking dish or a suitable pan that fits in your air fryer. Trim any excess crust hanging over the edges.

Pour the Filling: Carefully pour the egg mixture into the pie crust, ensuring an even distribution of the ingredients.

Air Fry the Quiche: Place the prepared quiche in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 320°F (160°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until the quiche is set in the center and the crust is golden brown. You may check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean from the center.

Cool and Serve: Once cooked, carefully remove the quiche from the air fryer and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Slice into wedges and garnish with fresh thyme if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
