Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole

Ingredients
  

1 lb ground beef

6 slices of bacon, chopped

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cheddar cheese soup

1 cup milk

1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots

Fresh chives or green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

    Cook the Bacon and Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels, leaving the bacon grease in the pan. In the same skillet, add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent, approximately 5-7 minutes.

      Season the Mixture: Drain excess grease if necessary and stir in the cooked bacon, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and remove from heat.

        Prepare the Cheese Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the condensed cheddar cheese soup and milk until smooth. Stir in half of the cheddar cheese and half of the mozzarella cheese until well combined.

          Assemble the Casserole: In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the beef and bacon mixture evenly across the bottom. Pour the cheese sauce over the meat mixture, spreading it out evenly. Layer the frozen tater tots on top of the cheese sauce, arranging them in a single layer.

            Add Remaining Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the tater tots.

              Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy, and the cheese is bubbling.

                Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh chives or green onions if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
