Ingredients

1 large flatbread (store-bought or homemade)

8 oz Brie cheese, cut into slices

2 ripe pears, cored and sliced thinly

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

Fresh arugula or spinach, for garnish

Olive oil for drizzling

Sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Caramelize the Pears: In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced pears, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, and cinnamon. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pears are tender and caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.

Prepare the Flatbread: On a baking sheet, lay out the flatbread. Drizzle a little olive oil over the top to add flavor.

Layer the Ingredients: Evenly distribute the sliced Brie cheese over the flatbread. Next, add the caramelized pears on top of the cheese. If using, sprinkle the chopped walnuts for added crunch.

Bake the Flatbread: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the Brie cheese is gooey and the edges of the flatbread are lightly golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove the flatbread from the oven. Add fresh arugula or spinach on top for a peppery finish. Season with a pinch of sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Drizzle a little more balsamic vinegar or olive oil if desired.

Slice and Enjoy: Cut into slices and serve warm, either as a delightful appetizer or a main dish!
