Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

8 slices of crispy cooked bacon, crumbled

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare Chicken Breasts: Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Sear the Chicken: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for about 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown.

Add BBQ Sauce: Pour half of the barbecue sauce over the chicken breasts, coating them evenly. Turn off the stove.

Top with Bacon and Cheese: Sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the chicken, followed by an even layer of shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Bake: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).

Finish with Extra Sauce: Remove the skillet from the oven and drizzle the remaining barbecue sauce over the top for an extra kick of flavor.

Garnish: If desired, garnish with chopped chives or parsley. Serve immediately.
