Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 inch ginger, grated

1 bell pepper (any color), sliced into thin strips

1 cup broccoli florets

1 medium onion, sliced

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for cooking)

Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.

Prepare the Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside.

Sauté the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer. Cook without stirring for 1-2 minutes to sear the meat, then stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until browned and just cooked through. Remove the beef and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring quickly to avoid burning. Then add the sliced onions, bell pepper, and broccoli. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

Combine Everything: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture and stir to coat evenly. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened.

Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles for a complete meal.
