Ingredients

1 cup fresh blackberries

1 tablespoon sugar

1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

1 cup ginger beer

1 cup chilled champagne or sparkling wine

Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Lime wedges (for garnish)

Ice cubes

Instructions

Macerate the Blackberries: In a medium bowl, add the fresh blackberries and sugar. Use a fork or a muddler to gently mash them together until the blackberries release their juices and the mixture starts to create a syrup. Set aside to let the flavors meld for about 10 minutes.

Prepare the Glass: Select a copper mug or a glass of your choice. Fill it with ice cubes to chill.

Combine Ingredients: In a separate cocktail shaker, add the macerated blackberry mixture, fresh lime juice, and ginger beer. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients without losing the fizz of the ginger beer.

Pour into the Glass: Strain the blackberry mixture into the chilled glass filled with ice, leaving room for the champagne or sparkling wine.

Top with Champagne: Slowly pour the chilled champagne or sparkling wine over the blackberry mixture, allowing it to mix naturally.

Garnish and Serve: Add a few fresh mint leaves and lime wedges for garnish. Optionally, add a couple of whole blackberries on top for extra flair. Serve immediately and enjoy the fizzy, fruity delight!
