Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast (1 packet)

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted (plus extra for brushing)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add this to the yeast mixture followed by the melted butter. Mix until a dough starts to form.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. If the dough is sticky, sprinkle a little more flour as needed.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and let it rest for 5 minutes. Then, divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.

Place the dough balls into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan, spacing them evenly. Cover with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a small saucepan, melt ¼ cup of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in the fresh herbs (parsley, chives), oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper.

Brush the garlic herb butter mixture generously over the risen rolls, ensuring each is well coated.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top. Brush again with the remaining garlic herb butter right after removing from the oven.

Allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy them warm for the best buttery flavor!
