Ingredients

1 loaf of sourdough bread, cubed

1 cup mixed cheese (e.g., Brie, Gouda, and sharp cheddar), shredded

1 cup mixed cured meats (e.g., salami, prosciutto, and chorizo), chopped

½ cup mixed olives (green and Kalamata), pitted and halved

½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved

½ cup walnuts or pecans, chopped

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon dried thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large casserole dish with cooking spray or butter.

Prepare the Bread Base: In a large mixing bowl, toss the cubed sourdough bread with half of the shredded cheese, the chopped cured meats, olives, cherry tomatoes, and nuts until evenly distributed.

Make the Egg Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Combine Ingredients: Pour the egg mixture over the bread mixture, stirring gently so that all the bread is coated. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the liquid.

Transfer to Dish: Pour the entire mixture into the greased casserole dish, spreading it evenly. Top with the remaining cheese.

Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the inside is set. You can insert a knife to check—the blade should come out clean.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Slice into squares or scoop with a large spoon.
