2 cups fresh broccoli florets (or frozen, thawed)

2 cups diced cooked ham

1 cup cooked white rice (or brown rice for a healthier twist)

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional for garnish)

1 cup breadcrumbs (for topping)

2 tablespoons butter, melted

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.

    Prepare the Vegetables: If using fresh broccoli, blanch the florets in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender, then drain and set aside.

      Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ham, cooked rice, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Stir until well combined.

        Add the Broccoli: Fold in the blanched broccoli florets gently until distributed throughout the mixture.

          Assemble the Casserole: Pour the mixture into the prepared casserole dish, spreading it evenly. Top with the remaining cheese (both cheddar and mozzarella).

            Prepare the Topping: In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the melted butter, ensuring all breadcrumbs are coated. Sprinkle the buttery breadcrumbs evenly over the cheese layer for that perfect crunchy topping.

              Bake: Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
