Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

1 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup butterscotch chips

1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, pecans or walnuts work well)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth and well blended. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and whisk until fully incorporated.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Add Chips and Nuts: Fold in the butterscotch chips and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Cool: Remove from the oven and allow the blondies to cool in the pan on a wire rack for about 10 minutes. If you've used parchment paper, lift the blondies out of the pan to cool completely on the wire rack.

Slice and Serve: Once cool, slice into squares or rectangles and serve. Enjoy your chewy butterscotch blondies with a scoop of ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for an extra indulgent treat!
