Ingredients

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

1/2 cup (100g) packed brown sugar

1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour

1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup (60g) powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

    - In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

      - Add the eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.

        Incorporate Dry Ingredients:

          - In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

            - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the dough will be thick.

              Add Chocolate Chips:

                - Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

                  Chill the Dough:

                    - Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel, and refrigerate the dough for at least 2 hours or overnight. This step helps to deepen the flavors and improve the texture.

                      Preheat the Oven:

                        - Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

                          Form the Cookies:

                            - Once the dough is chilled, use a cookie scoop or your hands to form balls of dough (about 1 tablespoon each). Roll them into smooth balls, then dip each ball into the powdered sugar, ensuring they are well-coated.

                              Bake the Cookies:

                                - Place the powdered sugar-coated dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are slightly soft.

                                  Cool the Cookies:

                                    - Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

                                      Serve and Enjoy:

                                        - Serve the chewy chocolate crinkle cookies warm with a glass of milk or store them in an airtight container for up to a week.
