Ingredients

2 large navel oranges

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional for smooth melting)

Sea salt (for sprinkling)

Zest of 1 orange (for garnish)

Optional: Chopped pistachios or almonds (for additional crunch)

Instructions

Prepare the Oranges:

    - Wash the oranges thoroughly and pat them dry. Cut the oranges into 1/4-inch thick slices, removing any seeds if necessary. Lay the slices on a paper towel to absorb excess juice.

      Melt the Chocolate:

        - Place the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. If using coconut oil for a smoother melt, add it to the chocolate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until fully melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate.

          Dip the Orange Slices:

            - Holding an orange slice by the edges, dip half of it into the melted chocolate. Allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl. If you desire a thicker coating, you can dip it again.

              Add Toppings:

                - While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the dipped area. For added texture, sprinkle on some chopped pistachios or almonds, and a little orange zest for a burst of flavor.

                  Set the Chocolate:

                    - Place the dipped orange slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat the dipping process with the remaining slices. Once done, refrigerate the baking sheet for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens completely.

                      Serve and Enjoy:

                        - Once the chocolate has set, serve the zesty chocolate-dipped orange slices on a platter. They can be enjoyed immediately or stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
