Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb ground beef (preferably lean)

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup whole milk

1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Freshly cracked black pepper (for serving)

Instructions

Cook the pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Sauté the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Create the creamy sauce: Lower the heat, and pour in the heavy cream and whole milk. Stir to combine. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.

Season the sauce: Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes to develop flavor.

Combine pasta and beef: Add the cooked fettuccine and sautéed ground beef to the skillet, tossing until well coated in the creamy sauce. Heat through for another 2-3 minutes.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with freshly cracked black pepper and extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
