Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup jalapeños, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)

1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)

1 large egg

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil, for frying

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped jalapeños, green onions, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together using your hands or a spatula until well combined.

Form the Meatballs: With your hands, scoop about 2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll it into a meatball shape. Place the formed meatballs on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat until all the mixture is used. You should have about 20 meatballs.

Cook the Meatballs: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, carefully place the meatballs in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Sear them for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer them back to the baking sheet after browning.

Bake: Once all meatballs are seared, place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the meatballs are cooked through.

Serve: Remove the meatballs from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm as an appetizer or main dish, drizzled with extra melted cheese or a dollop of sour cream, if desired. Enjoy your flavorful, creamy jalapeño popper turkey meatballs!
