1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your choice)

8-10 large lettuce leaves (such as romaine, butter, or iceberg)

1 avocado, diced

1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Lime wedges, for serving

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    Prepare the Chickpeas: In a mixing bowl, combine the rinsed chickpeas, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Toss them until evenly coated.

      Roast the Chickpeas: Spread the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until they are crispy and golden brown.

        Add the BBQ Sauce: Remove the roasted chickpeas from the oven and drizzle them with your favorite BBQ sauce. Toss to coat the chickpeas evenly in the sauce. Return them to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until caramelized and sticky.

          Prepare Lettuce Boats: While the chickpeas are baking, rinse and dry the lettuce leaves. Carefully peel them off, keeping them whole to form boats.
