Ingredients

4 boneless pork chops (1-inch thick)

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional for added flavor)

Olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

Prep the Pork Chops: Start by seasoning both sides of the pork chops with salt, pepper, and paprika if using. Let them sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Set Up the Dredging Station: In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour in the first dish, beaten eggs in the second, and a mixed combination of breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper in the third.

      Bread the Pork Chops:

        - Dredge each pork chop in the flour, shaking off the excess.

          - Next, dip it in the beaten eggs, ensuring it's fully coated.

            - Finally, press the pork chop into the breadcrumb-Parmesan mixture, coating it generously on both sides. Press down slightly to ensure the crust adheres well.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat about 1/4 inch of olive oil over medium heat. The oil should be hot enough that a breadcrumb sizzles when dropped in.

Cook the Pork Chops: Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded pork chops in batches (avoid overcrowding the pan). Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

Drain and Serve: Once cooked, remove the chops from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Garnish (optional): Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley and lemon wedges on the side for a burst of freshness.
