Ingredients

2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite flavor)

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

Optional: 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for extra sweetness)

Optional: Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Trim any excess fat as needed.

Mix the Sauce: In a medium bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and brown sugar (if using). Stir until well combined.

Layer in the Crock Pot: Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crock pot. Pour the barbecue sauce mixture evenly over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated.

Cook: Cover the crock pot with the lid and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, or until the chicken is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Shred the Chicken: Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the crock pot and place it on a cutting board. Use two forks to shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces.

Combine with Sauce: Return the shredded chicken back to the crock pot and stir it into the remaining sauce to fully coat.

Serve: Serve the BBQ chicken on a bun, over rice, or alongside your favorite sides. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for added freshness.

Enjoy!: Dig in and savor the flavors of your homemade crock pot BBQ chicken!
