Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 packet taco seasoning

1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

1 cup corn (frozen or canned)

1 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)

1 cup salsa (your favorite type)

1 tbsp olive oil

2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar and Monterey Jack blend)

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sour cream (for serving)

Fresh cilantro leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Meat: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef or turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.

Add Flavorings: Stir in the taco seasoning, black beans, corn, diced tomatoes, and salsa. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, until everything is heated through and well combined. Remove from heat.

Prepare the Crescent Dough: On a clean surface or parchment paper, unroll the crescent roll dough and lay it flat, pressing the seams together to form a cohesive dough sheet.

Fill the Bake: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, place half of the crescent roll dough at the bottom, covering the bottom completely. Pour the taco meat mixture over the dough, then sprinkle on half of the shredded cheese. Top with the remaining crescent dough flat, covering the filling.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the top of the dough. If desired, add sliced black olives for extra flavor.

Bake: Place the dish into the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Once out of the oven, let it cool slightly. Garnish with sliced green onions and fresh cilantro if desired. Serve warm with sour cream on the side.
