Ingredients

12 oz (340g) short pasta (like penne or rigatoni)

2 cups marinara sauce

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)

1 cup diced fresh tomatoes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the short pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Mix the Sauce: In a large mixing bowl, combine the marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle in the Italian herbs, and season with salt and pepper to taste. If using, fold in the diced fresh tomatoes for extra flavor and freshness.

Combine Ingredients: Add the drained pasta to the sauce mixture and stir gently until the pasta is fully coated.

Assemble the Bake: Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with olive oil. Pour half of the pasta mixture into the dish, then sprinkle half of the Parmesan cheese on top. Add the remaining pasta mixture, and finish by topping with the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.

Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil (optional if you want a crispy top). Place in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Once out of the oven, let it cool for about 5-10 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving. Enjoy your hearty Neapolitan Delight Pasta Bake as a family meal or at your next gathering!
