The first step in crafting your Frozen Yogurt Granola Trail Squares is to prepare your baking dish properly. Using parchment paper is key, as it ensures easy removal of the squares once they are frozen. By lining your dish with parchment paper, you create a non-stick surface that not only facilitates easy extraction but also allows for a cleaner presentation. Make sure to leave some overhang on the sides; this will provide you with a handy grip when it's time to lift the entire batch out of the dish.

Ingredients

2 cups Greek yogurt (plain or flavored)

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup honey or maple syrup

1/2 cup nut butter (peanut, almond, or sunflower)

1 cup mixed nuts (chopped almonds, walnuts, pecans)

1/2 cup dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, apricots, or cherries)

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips or dark chocolate chunks (optional)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), nut butter, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped nuts, dried fruits, and any optional ingredients such as chocolate chips and cinnamon. Toss them together until evenly distributed.

Combine Mixtures: Slowly fold the dry ingredients into the yogurt mixture. Make sure everything is well-coated and mixed together.

Prepare the Baking Dish: Line an 8x8-inch (or similar-sized) square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal later. This helps in lifting out the squares once frozen.

Transfer the Mixture: Pour the yogurt mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread it evenly with a spatula or the back of a spoon, pressing it down lightly to ensure everything is compact.

Freeze: Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the freezer. Allow it to freeze for at least 4 to 6 hours or until solid.

Cut and Serve: Once frozen, remove the baking dish from the freezer. Lift the parchment paper out of the dish and place it on a cutting board. Cut into squares or bars of your preferred size.

Store: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer, separating layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
