Ingredients

4 large crusty bread rolls (such as sourdough or Italian bread)

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

6 cloves of garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: Marinara sauce or soup for filling

Instructions

Prepare the Bread: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Using a sharp knife, carefully cut off the tops of the bread rolls and hollow out the insides, leaving about a 1-inch wall. Keep the bread you remove for later use (like croutons or breadcrumbs).

Make the Garlic Butter: In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper, mixing until well combined.

Spread the Mixture: Generously spread the garlic butter mixture inside the hollowed-out bread rolls. Make sure to coat the sides and bottom for maximum flavor.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly inside each bread bowl, pressing down slightly to ensure the cheese sticks.

Bake: Place the filled bread bowls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crispy and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. You can fill the bowls with marinara sauce, soup, or enjoy them as they are. Garnish with additional parsley, if desired.

Enjoy: Dig in and savor the delicious combination of crunchy garlic bread and melted cheese!
