Ingredients

1 lb fresh broccoli florets

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a kick)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Broccoli: Start by trimming the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Try to keep them uniform in size for even grilling.

Make the Marinade: In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Whisk well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Marinate the Broccoli: Add the broccoli florets to the bowl and toss them in the marinade until they are uniformly coated. Allow them to marinate for about 15-20 minutes at room temperature for optimal flavor absorption.

Preheat the Grill: While the broccoli is marinating, preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C). If using a grill basket, make sure it's also heated.

Grill the Broccoli: Place the marinated broccoli on the grill (or in the grill basket). Grill for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until the florets are charred and tender yet still vibrant green.

Add Parmesan: In the last minute of grilling, sprinkle the grated Parmesan over the broccoli. Close the grill lid for a minute to allow the cheese to melt slightly.

Finish and Serve: Once done, remove the broccoli from the grill and drizzle with fresh lemon juice. Toss to combine, and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
