Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen, thawed)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

1 tablespoon lemon juice (for glaze)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

Prepare the Baking Dish: Pour 1/4 cup melted butter into a 9x13 inch baking dish, ensuring the bottom is coated evenly.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar until thoroughly combined.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, remaining melted butter, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using).

Make the Dough: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix. Fold in the blueberries carefully to avoid crushing them.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Spoon the biscuit dough into the baking dish over the melted butter, using a spatula to spread it evenly. It will be thick and lumpy. Don't worry; it will spread as it bakes.

Bake: Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is cooked through.

Prepare the Glaze: While the biscuits are baking, whisk together powdered sugar and lemon juice in a small bowl until smooth.

Glaze the Biscuits: Once the biscuits are done baking and slightly cooled, drizzle the lemon glaze over the top using a spoon.

Serve: Cut into squares and serve warm, enjoying the buttery, sweet, and fruity goodness!
