Ingredients

4 ripe bananas

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup miniature marshmallows

1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans recommended)

1 tsp vanilla extract

Aluminum foil

Optional toppings: peanut butter, caramel sauce, or shredded coconut

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Start by preheating your grill to medium heat. While the grill is heating, wash the bananas and leave the peel on. Using a sharp knife, carefully slice a lengthwise slit down the middle of each banana without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket.

Fill the Bananas: Gently pull the sides of the banana apart to open the slit. In each banana, sprinkle about ¼ cup of chocolate chips into the slit, followed by a generous amount of miniature marshmallows and chopped nuts. Drizzle a small amount of vanilla extract over the fillings for added flavor.

Wrap in Foil: Take a piece of aluminum foil and place one filled banana in the center. Fold the foil around the banana to create a secure package, ensuring it is well sealed to prevent leakage while grilling.

Grill the Banana Boats: Place the wrapped banana boats onto the preheated grill. Close the lid and let them cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chocolate and marshmallows are melted and gooey. Be careful when opening the foil, as hot steam will escape.

Serve: Carefully unwrap the foil and serve the grilled banana boats warm. You can add optional toppings like a drizzle of peanut butter, caramel sauce, or a sprinkle of shredded coconut for extra deliciousness. Enjoy with a spoon or dig in right from the peel!
