1 cup whole wheat flour

1/3 cup honey or maple syrup

1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/4 cup coconut oil, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1/4 cup chopped walnuts or almonds (optional)

1 tablespoon chia seeds or ground flaxseed (optional, for extra nutrition)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, whole wheat flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt. Stir to mix all dry ingredients evenly.

      Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey (or maple syrup), applesauce, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.

        Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. If you're adding chia seeds or ground flaxseed for extra nutrition, fold them in now.

          Stir in Strawberries: Gently fold in the sliced strawberries and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
