Ingredients

2 cups cooked, shredded chicken

1 cup marinara sauce

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 package (12) slider buns (e.g., Kings Hawaiian)

1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped (optional)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare Chicken Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, marinara sauce, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt and pepper. If you'd like a little heat, you can also add red pepper flakes to the mixture. Mix until well combined.

      Assemble Sliders:

        - Cut the slider buns in half horizontally to create a top and a bottom section.

          - Place the bottom halves of the slider buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

            - Spoon a generous amount of the chicken mixture onto each bottom bun.

              - Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the chicken mixture.

                - If using, add some chopped fresh basil on top of the cheese.

Add Top Buns: Cover the sliders with the top halves of the buns.

                    Brush and Bake:

                      - In a small bowl, mix olive oil with a pinch of garlic powder and brush it over the top of the slider buns for added flavor and a golden finish.

                        - Cover the entire baking sheet with aluminum foil. This will keep the sliders moist while they bake.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the tops are lightly golden.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Slice along the seams of the buns and serve warm.
