2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound), cubed

8 ounces pasta (fettuccine, linguine, or your choice)

2 cups broccoli florets

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium lemon (juice and zest)

1/3 cup olive oil

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. In the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pasta. Drain and set aside, reserving 1 cup of the pasta water.

    Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Once hot, add the cubed chicken, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

      Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic. Stir in the red pepper flakes, if using.
