1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 ¾ cups buttermilk

2 large eggs

½ cup melted butter

1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into small strips

1 cup buttermilk (for marinating)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup ranch dressing

1 cup shredded lettuce

½ cup sliced tomatoes

¼ cup sliced pickles

Cooking spray or oil (for the waffle maker)

Prepare the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the chicken strips with 1 cup of buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

    Make the Waffle Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, blend the buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter until smooth. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.

      Cook the Waffles: Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or oil. Pour enough batter to cover the bottom of the waffle maker, close the lid, and cook until golden brown (approximately 3-4 minutes). Repeat this process until all the batter is used, preferably making small waffles that can act as the buns.

        Cook the Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator, shaking off excess buttermilk. Cook the chicken strips in the skillet for about 5-6 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
