Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef

2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

1 cup uncooked rice (jasmine or basmati)

2 cups beef broth

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Sauté the Aromatics: In a large skillet or pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Brown the Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Season the Mixture: Stir in the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.

Add Rice and Broth: Pour in the uncooked rice and beef broth, stirring everything together. Bring the mixture to a boil.

Simmer: Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and allow it to simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and has absorbed the liquid.

Incorporate Broccoli: After 15 minutes, gently fold in the broccoli florets. Cover the pan again and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the broccoli is tender and bright green.

Cheesy Finish: Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Cover again for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.

Serve: Fluff the mixture with a fork, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot.
