2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 large onion, finely chopped

2-3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, minced

2 green chilies, slit lengthwise (adjust for spice)

1 large tomato, pureed

1/2 cup frozen peas

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

1 teaspoon coriander powder

1 teaspoon garam masala

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust for spice)

Salt to taste

Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Heat the Oil: In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Sauté Onions: Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Add Aromatics: Stir in the minced garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

Incorporate Spices: Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Mix well and sauté for an additional minute to toast the spices.

Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the pan. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until it is browned and cooked through.

Tomato Puree: Pour in the tomato puree and season with salt. Mix everything well and let it cook for about 5-7 minutes on medium heat, allowing the flavors to meld.

Add Peas: Stir in the frozen peas and garam masala. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for another 5 minutes until peas are heated through.

Final Touch: Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Serve: Serve hot with naan, roti, or rice, and lemon wedges on the side for added zest.
