1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)

2 tablespoons milk (for icing)

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Set aside.

      Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.

        Add Egg and Extracts: Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.

          Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

            Shape the Cookies: Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet. Space them about 2 inches apart, as they will spread while baking.

              Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft.

                Cool on a Rack: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

                  Make the Icing: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk or powdered sugar as needed.

                    Drizzle the Icing: Once the cookies are completely cool, drizzle the icing over them in a zigzag pattern for a delightful finish.
