Ingredients

2 cups edamame in pods (fresh or frozen)

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon sriracha (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)

2 green onions, finely chopped (for garnish)

Sea salt, to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Edamame: If using frozen edamame, cook according to package instructions, typically by boiling in salted water for about 3-5 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.

Make the Savory Sauce: In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.

Combine the Ingredients: Stir in the soy sauce, sriracha, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using) into the pan. Mix well to combine the flavors.

Add Edamame: Toss the cooked edamame into the skillet, ensuring each pod is coated evenly with the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.

Garnish: Once everything is hot, remove the skillet from the heat. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the edamame and season with sea salt to taste. Finally, garnish with the chopped green onions.

Serve: Transfer the spicy garlic edamame to a serving bowl, and enjoy warm as a delicious appetizer or snack!
