Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1-2 fresh jalapeños, sliced (adjust for desired spice level)

1/4 cup agave syrup (or to taste)

1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 4-5 limes)

1 1/2 cups silver tequila

1/2 cup orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)

Ice cubes

Lime wedges and coarse salt or Tajín for rimming

Fresh strawberries and jalapeños for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Glasses: Rim your margarita glasses with lime wedges and dip them in coarse salt or Tajín to coat the rim. Set aside.

Macerate the Strawberries and Jalapeños: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and jalapeños. Sprinkle with agave syrup and muddle gently with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release the juices and infuse the sweetness. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes.

Blend the Base: In a blender, combine the macerated strawberry-jalapeño mixture, freshly squeezed lime juice, tequila, and orange liqueur. Blend until smooth.

Strain the Mixture: Using a fine-mesh strainer, strain the mixture into a pitcher to remove the solids, pressing down with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible.

Chill: If desired, add ice cubes directly to the pitcher or pour the strained margarita over ice-filled glasses for a refreshing chill.

Serve and Garnish: Pour the margarita into the prepared glasses. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices and a slice of jalapeño on the rim of the glass.

Enjoy: Serve immediately and revel in the sweet-spicy flavor explosion!
