Ingredients

1 ½ pounds ground turkey

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

½ cup milk (or a non-dairy alternative)

¾ cup BBQ sauce (divided)

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a kick)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.

Mix the Meatloaf Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, ½ cup of the BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Combine Thoroughly: Using your hands or a spatula, mix the ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; this will keep the meatloaf tender.

Shape the Loaf: Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan. Press down gently and shape into a loaf, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Add BBQ Sauce: Brush the remaining ¼ cup of BBQ sauce over the top of the meatloaf, spreading it evenly.

Bake: Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the meatloaf is cooked through.

Rest and Serve: Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, making it easier to slice.

Garnish & Enjoy: Slice the meatloaf and garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Pair it with your favorite sides such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a crisp salad!
