Ingredients

For the Chili:

1 lb ground turkey

1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 cup bell peppers, diced (mix of red and green)

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 cup chicken or vegetable broth

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

For the Sliders:

12 mini burger buns

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Optional toppings: sour cream, avocado slices, jalapeños

Instructions

Cook the Chili:

    - In a large pot over medium heat, add 1 tbsp of olive oil. Once hot, add the chopped onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5 minutes or until the onions are translucent.

      - Add minced garlic and ground turkey to the pot. Cook, breaking apart the turkey with a spatula, until it’s browned and cooked through (about 6-8 minutes).

        - Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper, mixing well to coat the turkey and veggies.

          - Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, Worcestershire sauce, and chicken broth. Stir to combine, then bring to a gentle simmer.

            - Reduce heat to low and allow the chili to simmer for at least 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The longer you simmer, the more flavors will meld.

              Prepare the Sliders:

                - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

                  - Take the mini burger buns and slice them in half. Place the bottom halves on a baking sheet.

                    - Spoon a generous amount of turkey chili onto each bun half.

                      - Top each chili portion with a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese.

                        Bake:

                          - Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

                            - Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

                              Assemble and Serve:

                                - Once slightly cooled, place the tops of the buns on each slider.

                                  - Garnish with fresh cilantro and optional toppings, such as sour cream, avocado slices, or jalapeños for an extra kick.

                                    - Serve warm and enjoy your delightful mini sliders!
